Client satisfaction my number one goal. I want to help you create a beautiful quilt that will last for generations to come. You can be involved in the decision making, or you can just tell me to use my expertise. Plus, my turn around time is quicker than most (approx. 4-6 weeks) so no waiting months to get your quilt back. I always use a new needle in my square inch price. I want every quilt to get the best possible treatment so a fresh needle is a must! I have plenty of project space in my studio which means I can accommodate any size quilt you have.
  • How do I pick out a quilting design/pantograph design?
I understand wanting to pick a pantograph design that speaks to you or matches your quilt theme. Urban Elementz is a personal favorite of mine, and I can accommodate any free pantograph design you choose. Here are a couple of common websites to look for pantograph E2E designs: www.urbanelementz.com www.intelligentquilting.com www.quiltscomplete.com
  • How do I prep my quilt for the best results?
Top · Be sure your quilt top is clean and free of pet hair and loose threads. · Be sure all seams and stitches are secure. · Please correct any wavy or ruffled borders as they will not lay flat in the finished quilt. Fullness and puckers pieced into the quilt top cannot necessarily be quilted out. · Iron your top with all seams pressed to one side or open, then fold it neatly. · Please remove any basting, tacking or pins. · Please use painters tape to mark the center edge of the quilt top and backing. · If you have a pieced border or bias edges on the outside of your quilt, please stay-stitch 1/4” in from the edge of your quilt to provide more stability. · No selvages please. Backing · Please do not supply bed sheets for backing. · If backing is seamed, take care to remove the selvage edge and make sure the sides are straight. Seams should be pressed open. · Make sure that your backing is 4” larger than the quilt on each side. Example: if quilt top is 60” x 60” your backing should be a minimum of 68” x 68”. Finish · Include binding fabric if we are binding the quilt for you. · If you have specific ideas about how you would like your top quilted, please consider bringing a rough sketch of the quilting design you have in mind.
  • Backing Requirements
To properly load your quilt onto my longarm frame, I’ll need at least 4” extra on each side. So for a 60” x 80” quilt, your backing needs to be 68” x 88”. It can be larger, just not smaller. If it’s too small, I won’t be able to stabilize the sides with my clips. Please measure carefully! If the backing is not an adequate size, I will either return it to you to fix (which can cause delays in getting your quilt finished, as well as extra shipping costs if you’re mailing it) or I will have to sew on some extra fabric and charge $25. So please measure the top and backing accurately!
  • How do I wash and care for a finished quilt?
Set your washing machine to a gentle cycle and choose cold water. Wash with a gentle detergent or Quilt Soap. If you are nervous about fabric dye bleeding, throw in a couple Shout Color Catchers. Line dry or lay flat to dry on a sheet, if you want it last longer.
